Me and My Journey

I want to help horses use themselves properly - help them to get rid of imbalances and compensations - Improve function, posture and movement - help train for soundness! - improving performance through proper function and biomechanics - educate owners/trainers - collaborate with other equine professionals to benefit the horse

My name is Sieren Borchert of SB Equine Bodywork, LLC. I do equine bodywork and massage. I started my education in the Winter of 2022/2023 with a basic in-person equine sports massage course. After that, I apprenticed with Faith Larsen of Oak Creek Equine. I have completed additional education through The Masterson Method, Equinology/EquiLearn, Trinity Equine Services, Holistic Animal Studies, as well as taking in information from trusted online sources (FEI, Vet Spine Compendium, Horses Inside Out, NBCAAM) and reading lots of books! I continue to learn as much as I can about anatomy, biomechanics, physiology, conformation, gait analysis, lameness, pathology, different modalities, contraindications, regulations, nutrition, etc so I can better understand the patterns I see, how everything is connected and to give the best that I can to help the horse function and feel its best. I’ve had a deep love for horses since age 10. The life lessons learned and values I’ve gained from my time spent riding and being around horses are immeasurable. Over the years, my eyes have been opened to working with horses in a more thoughtful, natural and balanced way, physically and emotionally.

My previous work experience has been in administration at physical therapy clinics, including spine clinics, general PT practice and a chiropractic office. I gained a wealth of knowledge from the doctors, physical and occupational therapists, and PT assistants I worked with over 15+ years, not only from an anatomy and terminology standpoint, but also educating me on different therapeutic techniques and modalities, such as manual therapy, neuromuscular reeductation, myofascial release, strain/counterstrain, kinesiotaping and craniosacral therapy. My time working in these clinics taught me a lot about my own body and how to ensure proper use and function, as well as facilitate healing and recovery. This has given me an incredible foundation to build on in my work with horses. Learning how to effectively work with and help my own body has helped me better understand the horses body.

My passion and experience has led me here and I feel like I have found my purpose in life. My goal is to do the best I can for the horses that touch my life. Horses have given me so much and I want to give back to them in any way that I can. I meet each horse where they are & allow them to tell me what they need. I look forward to continuing to learn and grow for the rest of my life, to do the best for the horse always. The horse is my guide..
